Halloween Party

Halloween - Trunk or Treat

It's that time of year again, Halloween! This is the 2nd annual "Truck or Treat" event; come one - come all. For kids and adults! On Halloween, come to the parking lot of Plain Grocery and Plain Hardware Store. Bring the kids, visit the "trunks" of all the cars and trucks for a safe and sane, well, maybe not "sane" Halloween. The trunks will be loaded with treats for all the kids. This is also a great time to socialize. Adults gathering, kids getting treats, what more could you ask for?

Maybe a cup of hot cider and cookies supplied by Plain Grocery, great conversation from neighbors, or stories by District 9 Firefighters. Ask the Firefighters about their new rescue unit to be delivered in 2008.

Mick and Trish Lamar are gathering local businesses and firefighters to help the kids have a fun and safe Halloween.

Leavenworth Events - Retirement

News Release CCFD9 Issued 03/23/07.

CCFD9 Chief to Retire Retirement

It has been announced, that as of May 31, 2007, Fire Chief Ken McDannald will retire. Chief McDannald has served with Chelan County Fire District Number 9, for over 15 years. Chief McDannald will be moving to western Washington to be closer to family.

Since the day Chief McDannald was appointed, there has been many changes and "upgrades" to District 9 Fire Dept. Chief McDannald helped in follow through and implementing many ideas for strengthening not only the department but also support for the District. Increased training, funding and improved equipment were all major issues pushed forward by Chief McDannald.

Happy trails and many thanks and appreciation to Chief Ken McDannalds.

Leavenworth Lodging Special

For your Leavenworth lodging and events, Featherwinds is offering a lodging special for a limited time. Featherwinds Lodging is offering special mid-week accommodation rates in the Featherwinds Garden Guest Lodge and Featherwinds Frontier Cabin.

Starting October 23, 2006 to February 23, 2007, mid-week rates (Monday through Thursday) for either the Garden Guest Lodge or The Frontier Cabin are:

$200 for 2 adults

$25.00 for each addition person

Both the lodge and the cabin require a minimum of four adults and a minimum 2-night stay. Mid-week special does not include dates November 23, 2006 through January 2, 2007.
